Copy Writing or Copywriting?Copywriting or copy writing, which is correct? It really does not matter. Weather you are trying to write sales copy for a product or you are writing copy for a free give away, it is important to get into the mind of the target customer and motivate them to take advantage of the free download or to purchase the product. Of course, if you are selling a product, there are other factors that figure into the overall equation, but you can have a very simple looking sales page with great sales copy and it will convert like crazy. On the other hand, you could have the best looking sales page with horrible sales copy and it will barely convert at all.

So, how do you write good sales copy? Well, it is similar to writing content for blogs or websites, but it will be geared toward getting the visitor to follow through with the action the sales copy is being written. Below there are questions to guide you through the copy writing process.

Why did I create my product/program that I am selling?

What are the main benefits my customers will receive from my product?

Why did I do it/create the product  in the first place?

What are the three biggest benefits that would make the visitor want it now?

What are the customer’s fears around this area of their lives?

What are their biggest frustrations?

What are the little things that nag the customer?

What do they worry about?

What will my program do for them?

What will they gain when they put my program to use?

How are they looking to change their lives?

The process of writing copy or writing sales copy is much easier if you have a good idea of your target customer. If you can narrow down the target customer by age, gender, location, race and other factors, the easier it will be to answer most of the questions listed above.

Affiliate Marketing

clickbankAffiliate marketing can be completed in many ways. Affiliate marketing provides many individuals and companies with opportunity to make money.  For affiliate marketing to work a partnership must be developed between the affiliate and the merchant.  You can achieve long term results with affiliate marketing. It is easy to make mistakes.

The first mistake many new affiliates make is they try to sell the product. As an affiliate you job is to pre-sell the product with good content. You can get paid as in affiliate in many ways.

  1. You can refer a visitor to a website for a product for sale and you will be paid a commission per sale.
  2. You refer a visitor to an opt-in box. You may get paid for that action. Some Internet marketers know they will make a certain amount of money off of every opt-in, so they are willing to pay for just the op-in. Plus you may get paid on the back they customer buys or upgrades later.
  3. This seems crazy, but there are services that will pay you for just sending visitors to a site. Now that is cost per action at its easiest.

There are some things you must understand about affiliate marketing before you go jumping into to this head strong. I know you are excited to start, but… the merchant is the creator or owner of the rights to a product, service or action that is being paid. The affiliate or affiliate marketer is the the person or company promoting the said products services or actions.

You want to make sure you are promoting products, services or actions on your site that are related to your site. You would not want to be linking to a site that sells maternity clothes to a gardening web site. A good match would be a stay-at-home-dad’s site be online job options.

Affiliate marketing has many advantages for the merchant and the affiliate. Done correctly on both ends makes promoting others products a viable income source.

Increase Your Productivity with Private Label Rights Articles

Do you have a hard time creating content for your blog or website?

Do you have a hard time creating content for your blog or website?

In a previous post, I discussed how to write high quality blog content using the different types of essays styles. In this post I would like to discuss another way to develop quality web content.

In the world of Internet marketing, creating a quality web content one of the keys to attracting repeat traffic to your site. The more traffic you can have coming back to your site, the more likely these people will come to trust you and buy the products that you are recommending. Another reason for developing original website content is to improve your rankings in with search engines.

There are all kinds of information on the Internet concerning duplicate content versus original content when it comes to search engine rankings. Even though the algorithms the search engines use does change all of the time and there are conflicting opinions about using duplicate content, it seems that a site or blog full of original content has more value than a site full of reused private label rights (PLR) products.

Now, what are PLR’s? PLR products are eBooks, articles or essays that you purchase and can claim as yours. No matter what kind of product you have you can slap you name on the product and claim the content as your own. When using PLR articles or essays for your website I suggest you rewrite the content with your own voice. Even though some people and experts claim that using duplicate content will not hurt your search engine rankings, I say why take that chance with your website. By rewriting PLR articles you will increase your productivity by decreasing the amount of time you spend creating quality content for your website.

By decreasing the amount of time you spend on creating quality content for website, you can spend more time promoting your website. Owning, operating and monetizing a website is not all about the on page factors. You should concern yourself with the off page factors part 1 and off page factors part 2. With more time to concern
yourself with building relationships with other marketers and bloggers you can establish yourself as an expert in your niche.

Why Sell Information Products on eBay?

eBay Seller ID Complete-Home-Business-Guide

eBay Seller ID Complete-Home-Business-Guide

The Internet has been called the information super highway since it has started. I remember the early 90’s, while I was working on a degree in mathematics and my college’s library got 6 computers that had access to the Internet. Web pages were very basic and graphics were very limited, but it was great place to get information and because of the Internet, regular people like us can make money by selling or promoting products. Since the Internet is a wealth of information, I started my home based Internet business by selling information products on eBay. What is an information product you ask? Well it is an electronic book or eBook. It is just like a book that you would get at any local or national chain book store, but you download it onto your computer and you do not have to worry about getting any paper cuts. If you like tangible items, you can always print the eBooks out from your printer, but with today’s movement of “being green”, it is best to just leave the eBooks on your hard drive or flash drive. There are three main reasons to start selling on information on eBay. First, eBay has a ton of targeted traffic. This means there are millions of visitors to eBay that want to spend money. Nowhere else in the world will you be able to get that kind of exposure! Secondly, selling on eBay is safe and the financial risk is minimal. Basicly, you do not need to risk alot of your hard earned money to start an eBay business. Third, the experience selling on eBay shoud lead to selling and promoting products on the Internet. Selling eBooks or information products on the Internet is virtually an auto pilpot business where you can literally make money while you sleep and not have to do anything. In fact, eBay can be an auto pilot business with the eBay software Auction Acrobat. If you decide to use Auction Acrobat to automate your eBay business, you will gain email leads that can be logged into aweber or getresponse. I personally use aweber and I have no problems with the software at all. Many of the emails I recieve from other marketers use one of these auto responder services. Once into your auto responder, you can email market these customers and turn them into customers off of eBay.

As I started my Internet marketing business, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I started selling on eBay with the guidance of John Thornhill’s 90 Day Power Seller Challenge and JL Scott’s Cracking the Auction Code. I have seen the Make Money on the Internet ads all over the Internet and thought they were all scams, but I have realized several things over the past year:

  1. You can make it big online
  2. It requires actual work
  3. It will require some learning and there are great information products to help you along the way

Statement number 3 is where I fit in to the equation. I want to be Your Internet Income Advisor and I want you to learn from me. I do post how to videos on YouTube about internet marketing skills that I have learned. I plan to post and maybe host videos on this blog. I would like the videos to be well done and about what my readers want. If you do not know how to do something, use my Contact Me Form to send me questions or video ideas or post a comment.

If you want to make money online without doing any work, then you are going to think many of the information products out on the market are a scam. No matter what the product is or what the product claims, it is going to require work, at least at the beginning to implement the money making strategy. Once many of these systems are in place, the work to maintain them is minimal and you could even earn money while you sleep.

Target Customer Defining with Online Marketing Tools

youtube1Internet marketing is a growing way for individuals to make money working from home. There are many people making a good living by developing multiple sources of income online. Whether you are marketing the Internet or you are marketing via other media sources, you need to keep be able to identify your target customer. The better you understand your customer, the easier it will be for you market them.
Questions you should ask yourself when defining your target market or target customer:

  1. Are they men or women?
  2. What is the current income level?  How old are they?
  3. Where are they located?
  4. What do they want?
  5. What are their key problems?
  6. What are their key problems?
  7. What can I exclude about my target customer?

By answering the above questions with as much detail that you can, you can start to define you target customer and/or target market. As I started selling on eBay, I had no clue about the need to define potential customers were or the importance of being able to define them. As I moved from eBay to the Internet in my efforts to increase my online earning potential, I discovered that just because someone finds your website does not guarantee they will interested in buying from you or your sponsored links. You need to target your traffic and targeting you traffic means you need to have clearly defined target customer.
I use You Tube to help get my name out there and to drive targeted traffic to my web site and blog. My user name on You Tube is daveatchbgdotcom. Since all of the videos I create for You Tube are centered around my target market (Internet marketing), if some watched my video and then visits my blog, I have created targeted traffic.
A great free online marketing tool can is found right on You Tube and is a free service provided for each video you upload. It is call ‘Insight’ and can be found for each video. With You Tube Insight you can research:

  • How many views each video has gotten and the location by country
  • How people found your video
  • For each ‘search’ it will list out the keywords used to find your videos
  • It shows all sites that are embedding your videoIt shows related videos and their titles
  • The age and gender of the viewers

By using youtube’s insight, you can determine what keywords to use on your website, blog, or other youtube videos. Also, you should use this information to refine your definition of your target customer.

A New Page and a New Theme

As I grow my online business and blog, I continually think about my target audience. Who am I really trying to sell to? At this point, I have two groups in mind. First is the eBay group. I became an eBay PowerSeller in a matter of 4 months. One of the information products that help me achieve this status was the 90 Day PowerSeller Challenge.

Now see what I did there? I just exposed my reader to a link, a link to a product that I am selling. You have to keep thing like that in mind when you are marketing the internet. When people reach your page, what and how are you going to try and sell them? I exposed my reader to a link to a product that I sell. It is full of useful information and it is a product that I personally used and put into action and I personally recommend the 90 Day PowerSeller Challenge.

Anyway, back to my original point. Who am I trying to attract to my blog and web page? This is the Internet and this is a public page, so anyone can view it and I encourage that activity. Anyone that wants to discuss what I post about can participate in a Stay at Home Dad’s Blog. I want to be a work at home dad and have just started to learn about Internet marketing. If you are a stay at home dad and want to share your experiences check out any of the posts tagged as Being Dad. If you are interested in what I am doing or have done in my quest to build a home based business checking out posts in Driving Traffic, Email Marketing, or Opt in List Building.

So the second group in mind is dads that currently work from home or that want to work from home. I strive to move from one of those groups to the other group. I want to be the good stay at home dad. I want to use my blog as a way to communicate what is going, but I do not want to turn off potential customers by sharing too much personal stuff. So, I decided to keep any family business under the Being Dad page. I just added a new page under Being Dad called An Evening with the Girls one of my recent experiences playing with the kids.

Finally, I think I have finally decided on blog style. If you stop by, feel free to comment.

Make Money with Resale Rights

At some point I will make a post about the types of resale rights there are in the Internet marketing business. I just came across a collection of private label rights (plr) products and I plan on selling them on eBay. That is the really cool thing about plr products; you can resell them as yours! You can put your affiliate links in the book and edit them as you please. You can use them as web content or the content can even be broken down into articles to be submitted to article directories.

When you receive private label rights products, it is rare to get full plr’s. If you do, then you can sell the private label rights with the product. If you do not receive master private label rights to a product, then you can only sell master resell rights to your buyer.

Either way, you are making money if you are selling this book. Now, how do you sell these resale rights products? Well, as I see it, there are two ways to make money selling eBooks. Sell them on eBay or sell them through a website. Both ways will require some skill and to be done right, some, but not much skill in html code. All you have to do is find where things go. Html is a very organized language and easy to navigate.

If you decide to sell you resale rights products on eBay you will need to ship an actual product. Back in March of 2008, eBay changed their regarding policy on information products. eBay required sellers to ship an “actual product”. Many, if not all, true information products can be delivered digitally. That is one of the greatest advantages of selling information on the internet; the business can be set on auto pilot. You spend some time getting your sale pages, auto responder and thank you and download pages ready to go. Do some promotion and go on a vacation or go back to work at you day job and have enough money to pay off you bills with extra put aside for your vacation.

Anyway back to eBay, most eBay sellers moving information products are shipping the product on an interactive CD-ROM. I have heard of cases where the products were being shipped on inexpensive flash drives. It was a bonus the resale right product that was purchased. However you decide to ship is up to you. Personally, I used CD-ROM’s to ship my information products on eBay. I am currently looking into a fulfillment company to ship my CD-ROM’s. It will cut a little bit into the profit, but I will be using eBay to build a marketing list. Through that list, I will be able to market them directly. By market them directly, I mean I will try to up sell them a product or recommend a free give away to a membership site.

Anyway, the point is eBay is a great place to build a customer base. Though eBay can change the rules, it is one of the most visited sites on the internet. Millions of consumers monthly make the possibilities endless. You can build a very large customer base on eBay and turn it into a lucrative ecommerce business and if you are in the business of information products, it can run itself.

Auto Responders and Blogs

My post yesterday was just a quick post to see if I had set up my auto responder correctly to broadcast my blog updates to my subscribers. Well, it did not broadcast as planned and I think I have figured out why. Let me explain.
It takes a while for the auto responder to “catch up” with what is happening in my blog and I made the post way too soon after making my blog post. Therefore, no one on my opt in list received an email about the update to my blog. Hence, I have something else to blog about.
Just another word about why auto responders are so cool.

My wife asks me the other day, “So is this email thing like a set it and forget it?” And I am sure you may have the same question. The answer is yes!! Once you set up a series of emails, the auto responder will send the emails out to every new subscriber in the order you originally set and if you get behind in making marketing emails and your current list will start receiving the new emails you create as you create them.
Before I started building my email list, by putting opt in boxes on my blog, web page and eBay account, I created about 30 marketing emails and sign up to my list to make sure they looked good and were being sent (which they did). This way, after I made the opt ins live in their various positions on the web, my subscribers would start receiving my emails and I would not waste a single subscriber.
Instead of subscribing to the email list myself, my auto responder allows me to test the email before I save it to my list, but I figured, I might as well get the same emails as the people I am marketing to.
A good friend of mine has been building an opt in list for a few months and has over 100 subscribers, but he does not have any follow up emails set to go out. I asked him, why don’t you start creating marketing emails. I explained to him how they will go out to all of his new subscribers as well as his old subscribers. He told me some lame excuse about not wanting to start to bother those people with emails after never emailing them for so long. I had to remind about another really cool feature offered by auto responders. In each email, a subscriber can “unsubscribe” or opt out by clicking a link contained in the email.
Anyway, that is all for now.
